CapEnglish is urgently looking for a Language Assistant to take up an immediate 3 month internship in Nimes (Southern France)

As an LA you will gain invaluable classroom experience, whilst fully immersing yourself into French culture. You will work alongside the local French teachers, but in English. You'll teach 20hrs a week to young learners, 3-8yrs old. 

Your immersion continues at home as you will be living with a French host family. Accommodation and meals are provided and you'll also receive a monthly income. In return you will help the family with their kids for a few hours per week (6-8hrs max).

The programme is designed for young, dedicated English speakers who are looking for a cultural experience in France and that enjoys working with young kids.  It’s an ideal internship opportunity for a newly qualified teacher, or someone with an interest in French culture.  

The programme offers the following:

• 3 month internship contract (immediate start)
• Accommodation with a host family, your own room. Families are vetted and are very welcoming and supportive.
• All meals provided, either by host or CapEnglish
• 50% of public transport to and from work reimbursed
• 630€ gross salary per month (based on signed Convention de Stage/Internship agreement) or SMIC rates for CDD contract
• Supportive teaching team

Criteria:

• 18-27 yrs old
• Enjoy working with young kids
• Speak English as a first language 
• Are a team player with excellent communication skills and an adaptable attitude
• Can speak basic French (recommended, but not essential) 
• Eligible for an internship (so registered as a student) within the stipulated dates (Mar-May) and eligible to work in France . For British or American students who intern for less than 90 days you do not need a visa.

The school: private catholic school in the heart of Nimes. This establishment enjoys a good reputation and offers a very friendly and supportive teaching team.

The family: this host family is an extremely lovely family of 6. The father is a French Banker and the mum is American, and happens to also be a teacher herself (so some extra teaching advice at the ready). They have 4 sweet kids ranging from 5-12yrs. 

The location: Nîmes is a city in the Occitanie region of southern France. It is famous for its many Roman remains, which are mostly in an excellent state of preservation. Visit the magnificent Arena or take a stroll through the vibrant city, enjoying local French cuisines. Well connected by train, you have easy access to many other beautiful landmarks throughout France, including Paris.
